Mel and Annie were the best. Friendly, accommodating, and thorough. I'd do this again with them without hesitation. For the way we used it, their campervan was perfect. It is so well thought out - just a great design that lets you be comfortable in minutes at each stop. It has integrated privacy screens in the front windows that fold out in seconds - a considerable advantage to those that have to wrap the windows with an exterior privacy screen when you consider Scottish weather. Dual gas/electric heating and hot water (we went into the highlands in early November and were always comfortable). The heat does innevatibly heat the hot water, so if you're ok with doing the dishes in the morning, you don't have to dedicate gas or electic to hot water heating. The fridge runs off of 3 sources: engine, AC power, and gas and the freezer portion kept a pint of ice cream frozen the entire time. On an 8 day trip, we only ended up using less than 20% of the LP gas tank and only paid 5 pounds to refill it (1 GBP / Liter). Now that I have a feel for this, if I did it again I'd use more gas for heat and would have been less concerned with switching the fridge to use the engine alternator. My favorite part was the stove/oven/broiler. Scottish grocery stores have good options for ready-to-cook soups and entries. So on nights where a pub wasn't an easy option, we'd make a lasagna, soup and warm bread, or a mushroom marscapone pizza. I couldn't have have made these meals any better in my home, save maybe just a slightly slower warm up time. The bed is comfortable. We slept well every night. Little things like a phone holder for navigating and cell phone chargers were already installed. That said, if you're from the States I would always have an alert navigator and maybe avoid driving at night. Most of the Scottish roads we traveled on were very dark, very narrow, and often change drastically in seconds, including going thru areas that are only wide enough for a single vehicle. The van drives well. In 8 days we drove about 1200 miles in the highlands and I think we spent 160 pounds on diesel (@ 1.40/L I think?) My wife and I think this was our best vacation to date after 30 years together, and we credit Mel & Annie's camper and service with a big part of that. November 2025

Nous sommes deux jeunes français et avons loué le van 1 semaine pour notre première expérience en van aménagé. C'était fantastique ! Le van est très fonctionnel, il ne manque de rien, tant dans sa conception que dans le matériel qu'il comporte. Nous avions pris l'option literie et serviettes puisque nous sommes venus en avion. La douche intérieure et l'eau chaude sont bien agréables pour l'automne. Melvin et Annie ont bien pris le temps de nous montrer TOUTES les spécificités du van avant de prendre la route. Ils se sont même rendus disponible pendant le voyage pour d'autres questions. Ce sont des personnes formidables que nous recommandons vivement ! November 2025

We had a fantastic holiday with Mel and Annie’s campervan. The vehicle is very comfortable, fully equipped, and gave us some truly special days. We’re very grateful to have been able to travel with it and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a complete motorhome experience. That said, we’d also like to share a little about our check-out experience. The day before check-out, we realised we had lost the waste water cap and made sure to buy and replace it ourselves at a specialist shop. This ended up taking longer than expected — the part was difficult to find and, once we did, the mechanic was further delayed — so although we had initially confirmed we’d be back on time, we later sent a message letting them know we would be about 20 minutes late. Unfortunately, we never received a reply. In the end, we arrived roughly 45 minutes late, but since our earlier message had gone unanswered, and we were still focused on finishing the repair, we didn’t send another update. We completely accept that the delay was our responsibility, but it did feel disappointing that the check-out was rushed and a bit awkward, especially as the camper was being moved while we were still inside packing. This was surprising, since when we first arrived we had been told there was no other booking for another two days and that, if needed, we could call and arrive up to two hours later (their booking calendar also showed there was no reservation scheduled during that time). We also understand that the responsibility is ours and we accept paying the deposit, as we already have. Still, it felt uncomfortable that the handover left no space for dialogue, and we would have appreciated the chance to explain the situation in person, rather than only finding out afterwards that the full £150 deposit had been withheld. That being said, we want to highlight again that the campervan itself is great, we felt very comfortable, and we truly enjoyed our trip. Mel et Annie nous on réservé un accueil très chaleureux. Leurs explications étaient bien claires et précises durant toutes les étapes de la réservation et de la location. Ils sont réactifs aux messages et sont très à l'écoute, toujours prêts à rendre service. Nous avons adoré voyager dans ce camping-car, fonctionnel et confortable (nous avons super bien dormi!) qui a été un parfait compagnon de route pour notre périple dans les Highlands. Augustus 2025

Mel y Annie han sido muy agradables en todo momento con nosotros, a pesar del idioma (nuestro inglés es bastante malo). Incluso Mel nos acompaño al lugar de pernocta del primer día. La furgoneta está muy bien, tiene calefacción, gas para cocinar y agua caliente que lo hacen muy comodo. A tener en cuenta que hay que estar pendiente del consumo de agua ya que el depósito tampoco es demasiado grande, pero no supuso ningún problema ya que hay muchos sitios disponibles para el llenado de aguas.Echamos de menos algún producto de limpieza para dejarla más limpia en la entrega. Pero El resumen Totalmente recomendado y positivo alquilar la camper con Mel y Annie.muchas gracias por todo. Juni 2025

We had a wonderful 7-days roadtrip around Scotland thanks to Mel and Annie: they were very kind with us and provided everything we needed, including suggestions for local pubs! We enjoyed our vacation a lot, as the van was simply amazing for wild camping - you can easily operate the cooker, oven, heating eand water heater while wild camping. The van drives very smoothly and we really recommend renting it if you want to travel around Scotland ☺️ April 2025

The van met all our expectations and suited travelling around Scotland very well. It was very clean and had everything we needed for self catering. The bed could be left as two singles(quicker) or pulled together as a full size double bed. We had good night's sleep. We also found the van very economical and easy to drive. Vorsicht vor falscher Freundlichkeit! Ich hatte noch nie so viel Ärger wie in diesem Urlaub. Der Camper hatte mehrere Defekte, ich mußte mich damit mindestens eine Woche herumärgern und Urlaubstage dafür opfern. Ich hatte zusätzliche Kosten, z.B. mußte ich viel öfter Campingplätze aufsuchen als ich sonst gemußt hätte, um ständig Wasser nachzufüllen und um duschen zu können. Es kann ja mal vorkommen, daß etwas übersehen wird. Aber daß ein ramponierter Camper keine Werkstatt sieht, sondern nahtlos weitervermietet wird, und man selber stümperhaft mit Klebeband bastelt- es also doch bemerkt hat finde ich dreist. Er hat es auch versucht so darzustellen, daß ich das verschuldet hätte. Zum Glück habe ich alle Belege und Schreiben von den Werkstätten aufgehoben. Von Kulanz keine Spur, im Gegenteil. Verantwortung wurde auch nicht übernommen. Die Schlichtung später über Goboony war wahnsinnig zeitraubend und hat so gut wie nichts gebracht. Die Frankfurter Tabelle, die normalerweise zugrunde gelegt wird, wurde nicht hinzugezogen. Ich kenne die Kriterien nicht. Anfangs fand ich alles sehr nett- obwohl ich es schon merkwürdig fand, von einem Fremden zur Begrüßung umarmt zu werden und, da ich aus Übermüdung nicht am gleichen Tag fahren wollte, mir ein Zimmer in seinem Haus anzubieten, seine Frau war verreist. Ich fand es wie gesagt merkwürdig, habe aber keinerlei Beschuldigung erhoben. Trotzdem hat seine Frau gelogen, die Tochter sei ja auch da gewesen. Zu dumm, daß er mir erzählte, daß eine Tochter in Dubai lebt und die andere in Australien gerade ein Kind bekommen hat. Ansonsten muß ich sagen, daß der Wagen zwar oberflächlich sauber war, die Polster aber so gemüffelt haben, daß die Kleidung nach dem Sitzen danach roch. Ich habe alles mehrfach desinfizieren müssen. Es roch auch aus den Waschbecken. Das Wasser würde ich nicht trinken oder zum Kochen verwenden, wenn man sieht, welche Essenreste vom Vorgänger noch Tage später beim Grey Water rauskommen- ekelig! Das angeblich so bequeme Luxusbett hat keine Matratze sondern wird aus den Polstern der Sitzbank zusammengesetzt, oft lag ich morgens in einer Spalte. Die Beine sind unter dem Kleiderschrank, da kann man sich schon blaue Flecken am Schienbein holen. Die Seitentür schloß manchmal nicht richtig, sie hat sich sogar während der Fahrt einmal geöffnet. Dafür hat die Selbstverriegelung mich einmal ausgeschlossen. Ich stieg kurz aus, der Schlüssel steckte noch im Zündschloß, machte die Tür zu und kam nicht mehr rein. Kein Handy, kein Geld, nicht mal eine warme Jacke hatte ich. In diesem Fall rettete mich die Seitentür, wo die Verriegelung nicht funktioniert hatte. Das war dem Besitzer auch bekannt, denn er war nicht überrascht (wie bei allen anderen Pannen) und teilte mir lapidar mit, wo er immer einen Ersatzschlüssel versteckt hat. (Bei Diebstahl zahlt da übrigens keine Versicherung!) Die Gangschaltung ist extrem schlecht und hakelig und ich fahre seit über 30 Jahren Schaltwagen. Das kann schon brenzlig werden in manchen Situationen, wo man schnell hochschalten muß. Ich könnte noch einiges mehr berichten, hab aber keine Lust mehr. Einen Punkt gebe ich für die Bettwäsche, die war sauber. Oktober 2024

Mel and Annie are very warm and accommodating, communication went very well before, during and after our rental. They really took the time to explain everything clearly to motorhome beginners like us. The motorhome is in good condition, the interior is practical and comfortable (+++ mention for the bed, a joy!) and its size of 6m long is relatively manageable on the narrow Scottish roads. We really enjoyed our trip and waking up to incredible scenery every morning was awesome! Thank you so much Mel and Annie! September 2024

It was our very first Campervan holiday and Mel and Annie took all the time we needed to make us familiar with the van. It was quite an adventure since we are not used to driving left and having the steer at the right side. Mel and Annie were available for all possible questions during the whole period. They really wanted us to have the best experience. It is a very comfortable van. Not too big which is good for absolute beginners like us. We had a small damage which was solved smoothly. Just had a fabulous holiday doing the NC500 is Mel and Annie's motorhome. This is the first time we have done anything like this and the van was easy to drive and obviously well loved and maintained. Communication was excellent from start to finish and the handover at the start of the holiday was very clear and through. We had such a great holiday in this motorhome. It was the perfect size for navigating the narrow roads of NC500. It is fully equipped with everything we needed; the bed and front seats were more comfortable than those at home! Mel and Annie were most helpful, with excellent communication. Highly recommend. Really beautiful experience, the campervan was great! Everything worked perfectly, the van had already full equitment (like dishes, cookingutensils, gas, water ect.). You can start your journey immediately. We asked for bedding and we got a cosy place to sleep, also the pick-up-service worked perfectly. Anne and Mel were always very kind and helpfully. We’ve just had a great week travelling around Scotland in Mel & Annie’s motorhome. It’s perfect for a couple & has everything you need with a kitchen, bathroom, heated shower & large comfortable bed. We both found it easy to drive as it’s not too large & has a reversing camera for parking. Using the park4night app we were able to find some nice quiet parking places surrounded by beautiful scenery. The heating worked really well & It was nice to wake up to frost in the morning & still be warm & cosy. Mel & Annie are very quick to respond & very helpful explaining how everything works. Awesome fully self contained camper. With use of the Park4night app we were able to make good use of its off grid capabilities and parked in some fantastic remote locations. Travelling the North Coast 500 in Annie & Mel's van was a fantastic experience. Their van is just perfect and is equipped with a kitchen, bathroom and a very comfortable bed and is very easy to drive and park thanks to its size. EN We've been lucky to be the first van renter of Mel and Annie, what an experience ! The couple listened to us from the beginning of our reservation to the last day. They've been able to answer to all our questions and manage us when it was necessary. The campervan is in a really good condition, Mel & Annie take care of it ! It's easy to drive and takes us every where we need. We ever rent smaller van, but this one is incomparable. It's really confortable. We recommand it, and maybe a day we would come back for a new trip ! ___ FR Nous avons eu la chance d'être les premiers locataires du fourgon de Mel & Annie, et quelle belle expérience ! Le couple a été à notre écoute et disponible du début de la réservation jusqu'au dernier jour de réservation en répondant à nos questions et nous arrangeant quand cela était possible. Le Van est en très bon état, se conduit facilement et nous a mené partout où nous en avions besoin. L'intérieur est confortable, première fois en fourgon après avoir testé des van plus petit, le niveau de confort est incomparable. Nous recommandons et reviendrons peut-être faire un tour avec le Van. Mei 2023
