If we could give me than 5 stars we would. Not only does Ruaridh have the most beautiful campervan and gives an incredibly helpful handover, he is just a really nice guy. We hired Ruaridh's campervan for our honeymoon to do the NC500. He went above and beyond to make it the most perfect trip for us including leaving us a bottle of wine in the campervan fridge and giving us a gift to take away with us. Ruaridh has kitted out the campervan with everything you could need and it is perfect for the most stunning holiday in the Scottish Highlands. Through no fault of the vehicle we got a puncture and Ruaridh kindly drove over an hour to meet us so that we did not have to continue our journey with the spare tyre. I could not recommend Ruaridh and his campervan enough!

I hired this van with a friend and we had a fantastic time exploring the NC500 over 8 days in all weathers.. We became very fond of the van during our trip. I loved driving it and it managed the mountain passes without issue. It’s comfortable and thoughtfully kitted out with everything you need for your trip. The bed is also super comfy. Ruaridh and Julia are lovely, kind and genuine people. Ruaridh took the time to give us a detailed and thorough intro to the van and he was responsive throughout our trip. He shared some great tips of stop off on the way if asked. He even collected us from the airport and dropped us off after which made the whole process so simple and efficient. If this van is available for your dates and is what you are looking for then you are lucky! Snap it up while you can and enjoy!

Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ruaridh was so helpful before collection and really put us at ease with any concerns we may have had and also sent us a really helpful checklist to use.
Pickup of the van was again so easy and he made us feel like he really wanted us to just enjoy the vehicle for what it is!
The van itself is really well equipped, spacious and reliable. It may be old but we had literally no issues and it was far superior to any van I’ve rented previously

Ruaridh saved our trip!
Our van from Edinburgh was cancelled a day before our trip and we messaged Ruaridh last minute. He replied promptly, went out of his way to ensure the van was ready for us and picked us up from the train station.
We completed over 700 miles in the van doing the NC500. It was perfect for the narrow windy roads and fully equipped with everything we needed when staying in campsites overnight (linens, towels, kitchen equip etc.). The induction to the van was excellent and the van was very well taken care of - the sound system in the back was great!
We can’t thank Ruaridh enough for letting us hire his van, we would highly recommend to anyone else who is doing the NC500/visiting the highlands!

We had an amazing 8-day trip in the van. Perfect for 1-2 people. It is easy to drive, which makes it comfortable to take on some of the small, steep roads out there. Conveniently, the battery is charging very well when driving - we did not hook it up for electric once in the 8 days. Ruaridh is extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us a great induction making us very comfortable with the van from the beginning and helped us with advice along the trip - he was always easy to reach, quick to reply, and sent thorough, well-considered suggestions for hikes or safe places to camp, thanks to his excellent knowledge of the area. He also supplied practical equipment like towels, duvet, etc. for the car and kindly transferred us to and from the train station which was highly convenient.

We came to Scotland on a flight and were unable to bring a lot of practical stuff for the journey in the van. So we really appreciated that Ruaridh had thought through most of the practical details and provided things - eg. washing up liquid, bedding, clothes etc.
Ruaridh was very prompt and clear with all correspondence. And was a very friendly and personable guy to deal with. He provided more service than any other rental place we can think of.

Great trip covering nearly 500 miles in this VW which has been professionally converted allowing space and comfort. Home from home feel as fully equipped including a freezer compartment, 4 burner hob and grill allowing us to experience some off grid camping. Ruaridh gave us a full induction which gave me the confidence to enjoy the time spent in this great vehicle also knowing he was at the end of the phone was a great example of his passion for you to enjoy your time spent with the VW. We were also given a lift back to the station on our return which was so helpful.

I can't explain how amazing my experience was with Ruaridh and the T4. Ruaridh put so much care and thought into everything about this experience. The van was kitted out with everything you would ever need to enjoy your trip and he explains everything so well. He also helped me out with recommendations which again were all very considered the the type of holiday I needed. I felt so well equipped for my journey in every aspect thatnks to his care and detail. I had the most amazing trip full of walks, hikes, wildlife, reading and stunning sunsets. It was genuinely touching to see how excited Ruaridh was to hear about my adventures. I couldn't have asked for more. I also got to meet Ruaridhs lovely partner Julia who makes truly beautiful pottery. I purchased two mugs and will think of this trip whenever I have a cup of tea and reflect on this mini adventure. I fell in love with the van and was very sad to say goodbye but I'll definitely be back and would wholeheartedly recommend hiring from this fine fellow. We had the most amazing time, it was truly remarkable! The van was excellent but my partner and I both agreed that the trip wouldn’t have been the same without Ruaridh and all his careful help. Firstly, the booking process and planning phases were seamless. Ruaridh was attentive and provided incredibly detailed information making the process stress-free. He was patient with us whilst we sent over documents for insurance. When we sent incorrect document Ruaridh was polite and understanding. Ruaridh kindly offered to collect us from the airport which made things much easier, it was a great added service and certainly one we didn’t expect. Ruaridh kindly took the time to share his knowledge and advice for our adventure and the suggestions made were perfect – we will forever be grateful to him for sharing his hidden gems with us. The beaches and campsites he suggested were spectacular, far exceeding our expectations. The van is FAB! It was reliable, sturdy and warm – the perfect road trip companion. Ruaridh’s initial instructions were clear and we felt confident heading off into the wild with our trusty steed. He was cosy [maybe more so with the weather we experienced] but that’s what we expected. When we did have questions [mainly because we were being foolish] Ruaridh’s attentiveness was much appreciated. We both commented it was very reassuring knowing someone was back at base, on hand to help should we need. If you’re considering renting a van in Scotland you MUST rent off Ruaridh, he is knowledgeable, kind and incredibly humble. We have already told many of our friends that if they travel to Scotland they must use one of Ruaridh’s vans. From start to end our experience was magic. We will certainly return!

What an excellent experience from start to finish. Ruaridh gave a thorough run through of everything we needed to know and made some suggestions about the route we should take which actually made our trip so much better. He was relaxed and put us at ease even offered us a coffee. The whole trip was magical and the best trip/holiday we have ever had in large part due to the suggestions made by ruaridh. He was available by text for any issues/questions we had. The van was great no issues at all and was perfect for the trip we did. From initial booking to returning the van at the end of our trip, the customer service and hospitality we received from Ruaridh was above and beyond expected. The location of the van (very close to Inverness airport) and the provision of necessities and more (bedding, blankets, crockery and utensils, phone holder, multiple charging ports, table and chairs) made it extremely easy to fly in with with minimal luggage. Again the location, condition and utility of the van made it extremely easy to travel Scotland’s coastline staying on cliff tops, beaches and campsites all with sufficient supply of water, gas and power. Would highly recommend both Ruaridh and this VW camper van. A fantastic experience and we would definitely use again for future trips.

What a fabulous weekend exploring a small part of the NC500 from the comfort of a very comfortable, well appointed and well loved camper van? Ruaridh couldn’t have been more gracious and helpful. We had the trip of a lifetime in Ruaridh's camper!
Ruardih did everything he could to make our entire journey from start to finish as smooth and stress-free as possible. Some of our personal highlights from hiring this camper were the close proximity to Inverness Airport, the ability to park up every night off-grid not having to rely on mains gas, water, or electricity giving us the freedom to explore the highlands at our own leisure, and also the incredible sound systems installed in the van meaning we could listen to our favourite tunes mile by mile.
We can't thank Ruardih enough for going the extra mile to make our trip that extra bit special. I would 100% recommend hiring this awesome camper to anyone.

An amazing trip, van and host. We couldn't have been happier with or asked for a better adventure week in Scotland. We slept 2 nights "wild" and 2 nights at a campsite. It was the perfect van to come back to after a long days walk - reliable, well equipped and well maintained. Ruaridh was an exceptional host, explaining everything thoroughly and making us feel at ease - just an all round great guy. Ben Nevis is a must to tick off the hiking list and we also visited the Sligachan falls on the Isle of Skye. A very special trip that we won't be forgetting for a while. The van was spotless and had all the necessary and high quality items to spend a very comfortable week traveling. Ruaridh is an experienced traveler and had though of all the extra details which can enhance the van experience. It was the perfect size for two travelers and such a nice vehicle to drive even on the more challenging roads. Ruaridh picked us up in Inverness and him and his partner were so generous with their time, passionate about the Highlands and were genuinely very excited about our trip. He put us at ease with escaping with his van and he explained all the necessary details so we felt very safe. Ruaridh shared some very valuable hints and tips which really helped us discover some of the many hidden gems of the Highlands. We can't recommend hiring with Ruaridh enough and are so grateful for everything he did to contribute to our fantastic adventure. Thank you so much! Holly & Hélène

We rented the campervan for 7 days and drove it for 600+ miles. We had not a single problem with it. It drives very well and it's perfect size to be droven all along the single lane roads found around the Highlands. The owner (Ruaridh), is been, supportive, reliable and helpful since the first contact on goboony until the last day, when he very kindly brought us to the airport.
We hope to be able to see other parts of the Highlands and if so, we will be renting again Ruaridh's campervan.

We spent just under a week doing the NC500, the van was absolutely perfect! It was easy to drive even along single track roads, the layout was excellent and we were able to store all our things easily. It was nice to be able to sit out with the table and chairs and the bed was also really comfy. Ruaridh was so helpful and friendly from the beginning. He ran through everything before we set off, gave us some great recommendations and and was on hand if we needed anything. We would 100% recommend and will be booking again, thank you Ruaridh!

We had a great trip in Northwest Scotland in Ruaridh's van. It was perfect for 2 people and everything was thought-out and well equipped. We were able to camp off-grid for 3 nights with a full water tank. Ruaridh's communication was great from the first enquiry and he was always on hand if needed. He made sure we knew how everything worked in the van and gave us a handy manual in case we needed reminding of anything on the road (although everything was very simple to work so not a problem). He was great at giving recommendations for places to visit and camp. It was lovely sitting outside on the camping chairs but also very cosy being inside when it was raining and the bed was very comfy. Thanks for giving us a warm welcome to Scotland Ruaridh and Julia - we'll be back to borrow the van again!
