Hiring this Defender was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. We spent three nights driving from Inverness to Skye and through Glencoe, and honestly, we couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. There’s something so special about exploring the Highlands in an old school Defender. It’s not just a a hire car, it’s part of the experience. The Defender was brilliantly kitted out with everything we needed. The pop top tent was such a fun setup, and all the camping gear, sleeping bags and cooking equipment were thoughtfully provided. It made life so easy while still feeling adventurous. The hosts were absolutely fantastic too. So friendly, genuinely lovely people, incredibly responsive and always happy to help. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best trip possible. If you’re thinking about seeing the Highlands, do yourself a favour and hire this Defender. It’s full of character, drives beautifully, and turns an amazing road trip into one you’ll never forget.

HossVentures – Vehicle Return Rules
To help keep our Defenders in top condition for the next adventure, please follow these return guidelines:
1. Fuel
The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of diesel, the same level it was supplied with.
Missing fuel will be charged at pump price plus a £20 refuelling fee.
2. Cleanliness
Please return the Defender in a reasonable, tidy condition.
Exterior cleaning is not required unless the vehicle is heavily soiled.
Interior must be free from rubbish, excessive mud, sand, or spills.
Additional cleaning fees may apply if the vehicle requires deep cleaning.
3. Equipment & Accessories
Please ensure all supplied items are returned, including:

Roof tent (clean, dry and secured properly)
Optional bike rack
Any straps, tools, or accessories provided
Vehicle handbook and safety items
Missing or damaged equipment may be deducted from the deposit.
4. Roof Tent (if hired)
Must be fully closed, latched and dry before return.
If weather prevents drying, please inform us — we’d rather know than risk mould or damage.
5. Damage & Condition Check
A full inspection will be carried out on return.
Please notify us in advance of any damage, warning lights, or issues encountered during your hire — honesty is always appreciated.
Damage beyond normal wear may result in charges up to the insurance excess.
6. Return Time
The Defender must be returned at the agreed time.
Late returns may incur an additional half-day or full-day charge, depending on delay.
If you need extra time, contact us — we’re flexible when possible.
7. Mileage
Unlimited mileage is included, but we still check the odometer for record-keeping.
8. Smoking & Pets
No smoking or vaping in the vehicle or tent.
Pets allowed in vehicle, but not the roof tent.
