Simon was so diligent and helpful and practical. He went out of his way to make sure I knew the vehicle well and that we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The van was very clean and really well looked after and cleverly adapted with a good balance of modern features (eg solar panel, nice lighting) and authentic features. As always with an original vehicle of this age there will be quirks you have to be patient with, and it’s not an easy vehicle to drive (!) but tbh that was what made it so so evocative of my childhood and such a fun and exciting weekend. We hired Phoebe for the weekend and it was absolutely brilliant! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Simon is a fantastic host, his communication was clear, friendly, and timely. He made sure we felt confident and well-prepared before setting off and was always available for any questions we had. The van itself, a beautifully maintained 1970 VW T2, was full of character which had people asking questions and noticing. It's clear that a lot of care and attention has gone into keeping her in top condition. Despite her age, Phoebe ran smoothly with no issues at all, the drive was comfortable and stable, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. Inside, the van was well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable weekend getaway. There were thoughtful touches throughout, from 4 ring hob, sink, kitchen essentials and utensils to cozy bedding and blankets. Even though it was just two of us, the van could easily accommodate up to four people without feeling cramped. The layout makes great use of space, and the pop-top roof adds extra headroom. The interior was spotless when we picked it up, clean, tidy, and inviting. It felt like stepping into a retro escape pod, but with all the modern comforts you'd hope for. We particularly appreciated the little design details that gave it personality while still being practical. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend hiring Phoebe if you're looking for a unique and memorable road trip or weekend break. Whether you're a vintage camper enthusiast or just looking for something a bit different, this van delivers charm, comfort, and adventure in equal measure. I will definitely be back for another trip! Simon was very helpful, and extremely responsive. We enjoyed our first time in a campervan, 'Natalie' was super cute and actually one of my favourite colours too :) My LO loved staying in the hammock and the pull out bed was really comfortable as well. Nat was such a great experience all round. Firstly, Simon was excellent. So much help and completely honest about the whole experience, made our first time renting feel very comfortable and always answered questions about the nuances of the van. With regards to Nat, she was so great. A dream to always ride around in a VW camper and she really fit the bill. Very well layed out, loads of space with the pop up roof and he had thought about all the little bits inside. Even though the weather was terrible the bed was comfy, the van completely waterproof and the heater really heats her up so quick. Would recommend her to anyone. She takes a couple of hours to get used to driving if you haven't driven something this old before but after you understand it, she drives incredibly well and cruised around the Peak District perfectly! Would defo rent again! Juli 2024
