First time driving a vehicle larger than a car, first time in a camper van so I was more than a little nervous when the day arrived, but John's easy-going, relaxed manner and humour soon put me at ease. He did a very thorough handover, showed us everything we needed to know and gave us confidence that we could do it!! We headed up to Glencoe, Skye, Inverness and finished up in Loch Lomond. Smudger is sooooo easy to drive so if it's your first time too, do not worry, you will get used to it very quickly. We loved van life. John's van has more than everything you could need and the wee toilet was great for a menopausal lady like me 😆 It was a bit cold now and then so we used the heater a few times and it was brilliant!! Heats up the van very quickly and you can adjust the temperature to suit. The beds, table etc are very easy to set up and you soon get the knack and get into a routine. If, like me, you've wanted to do this for a while but aren't sure if you can do it, I would highly recommend John's van. It's not too big but definitely not too small so for a 2 adults or a small family it's ideal! Go for it, you won't regret it. It was everything I hoped it would be 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💛 September 2024

The campervan of John exceeded expectations. He really took the time to explain every single detail of the campervan and it made us directly comfortable. The good thing about this Smudger is that it's really spacious inside (it really IS bigger on the inside), but with driving it's compact so that makes even the narrowest single tracks roads in Scotland easy. Besides that, the campervan is in really good condition, clean and got some startup products like cleaner for doing the dishes, pepper, salt and many things like that. I really would rent this one again if I go to Scotland again. Thanks John! September 2024

It has been a great experience traveling around Scotland with John’s van! Scotland is beautiful and I think the best way to visit it is by van! John’s van was fully equipped, and John was absolutely helpful. We needed a child seat for our son, and he got us a perfect one. He explained everything clearly, and we didn’t have any trouble during the trip. The van was perfect for two adults and one child; you could probably manage with one more kid, although there isn’t much room inside to fit luggage or clothes. One more plus: the automatic transmission made it easier to learn how to drive on the left! Absolutely recommended! Augustus 2024

Had the best 2 weeks in thes van. It has everything one needs but still compact enough to go through smaller roads in the outskirts of Scotland - which is very important for the big experiences. If you are looking for an ideal way of traveling through Scotland this is the perfect solution. John is extremely nice and accommodating. I would recommend this to everyone - truly a 5 star experience. Juli 2024

A huge thank you to John for his patience whilst us newbies got to grips with the website/booking process. John was quick to respond to any messages and was so kind to let us arrive earlier on collection day to allow for a thorough walk through of the van & show us the workings with being complete novices. He also let us park our car in his driveway for the duration of our trip which let us set off on our adventures as soon as handover was completed. The van itself is excellent, we loved the layout and it has everything you could need for a comfortable trip. Thank you again for letting us hire your camper van, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend booking with John. April 2024
