Had a really good trip in Arthur - it was the first time we had done something like this and given the COVID restrictions it was a great way to travel around safely. Darren, the owner of Arthur was very supportive and helpful with a number of minor issues. Very good trip! Oktober 2020

We are giving 1 star because of an unfair conduct from owner. On check out owner complained the toilet tank was not fully emptied. Everything else was fine and he told us we would have had a full refund for deposit, so we left as we live two hrs drive away. Later that evening, we had a text from Darren saying he would charge 100 £ for emptying the toilet tank. We had emptied and cleaned the tank earlier that morning, but due to highly congested traffic, it took us much longer than expected and our 4 yrs child needed toilet. We were 1 hrs late (of which owner was promptly noticed), but on our arrival he was not there and we waited for 1 hrs to check out. Had we known we had all this time, we would have either stopped at a proper toilet, or emptied tank again, rather than doing our best to arrive as early as possible. Camper van itself is decent, but fridge and freezer never worked properly. September 2020
Reactie van Darren As per our terms and conditions we expect the vehicles to be returned to us in a similar condition that they are collected in. We obviously accept that there will be day to day dust etc. I understand that traffic can be heavy as we are in a very popular tourist area however for you to have filled the toilet to the overflowing level it was returned in, bearing in mind it has a 25 litre capacity, I do not believe this can have been emptied, or cleaned that morning. You did inform me half an hour before you were due to return the vehicle that you were running late, at which point I did inform you I had an appointment at 12.45 that would not take me long. When I returned at 1.15 you were at my property and we quickly began the check-out procedures. The fee I charged you to empty the toilet included the charge I had to pay at the facility I had to take the vehicle to for discharging the cassette, as discussed I do not have this facility at my premises and I declined your offer to empty it into my hedge. I also had to have the toilet, cassette and the area which holds the cassette professionally cleaned as it was not fit to be used, or rented out again without this. I tested the fridge and freezer after you returned it and discovered that the setting had been turned down, this would explain why in the heatwave you were having issues. May I suggest if you decide to hire another vehicle for a trip that you ask the owner, when not sure, how something works. Also please respect the vehicle, as they are expensive vehicles that we are entrusting to you on your agreement to take care of them and treat them well.

The motor home was lovely and functioning well. Sadly when we returned i paid up front for a small piece of damage done by another vehicle during my trip and the owner has not followed through on providing the paper work for me to claim this back from their insurance. Very unfair. Augustus 2020
Reactie van Darren Hi Alex I have attempted on numerous occasions to send you the paperwork relating to the damage caused during your hire of Finley. I have even sent you a screenshot via text that the email was leaving my account and going to the correct email address for you. I am sorry that you did not receive it as quickly as I had tried but am glad that you confirm you received it eventually. I am glad that you enjoyed your trip in Finley and hope you book him again for another trip.
